Code of Conduct


The Infogroep CTF is built on the foundation of friendly competition. To uphold this spirit, all participants are expected to conduct themselves respectfully towards everyone involved, including other participants, Infogroep members, and sponsors.

Breaking the rules will result in disqualification and possibly exclusion from future Infogroep events.

Personal information

  • The personal information on the account of every participant must be valid.
  • Every participant must be a Bachelor or Master student at a Belgian university or college. PhD students are not allowed to participate.
  • Participants must be 18 years of age. If you have not reached that age yet, please contact us before registering.

The event

  • Attendance is mandatory.
  • External aid from people not present at the venue is not allowed.
  • Communication with participants from other teams is not allowed.

  • Do not attack the infrastructure of the CTF.
  • Do not attack other participants.
  • Do not attack the network (e.g. with port scanning) unless explicitly mentioned.
  • Do not, in any way, sabotage the CTF.

  • During the event, hints can become available on this platform. The CTF team may and will not give any hints to individuals or teams.

General rules

Everyone is treated with respect. All forms of discrimination, harassment, and abuse are strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to:
  • Bullying: Any behavior that intimidates, isolates, or harms another person.
  • Violence: Physical or verbal aggression that causes harm or fear.
  • Sexual misconduct: Any unwanted or inappropriate sexual behavior.
  • Discrimination: Treating someone unfairly based on factors like: Socio-economic status, Class, Philosophy, Religion, Nationality, Skin color, Ethnicity, Migration background, Age, Sexual orientation, Gender identity and expression, Physical or mental abilities and disabilities

Reporting

Any member of the Infogroep team or any participant who witness discrimination, unfair treatment or transgressive behaviour are obliged to defend the victim. If they are unable to stop undesirable behaviour, they will take responsibility for reporting it, if necessary, anonymously.
